Is Signer really free?
Yes. All features and exports are free. No account, email or payment card is required.
Are my files uploaded?
No. Files are processed locally in your browser and are not uploaded to our server.
Is this a legally binding electronic signature?
No. Signer places an image of your signature or stamp on a document. It is not a qualified electronic signature and does not replace one when a qualified signature is required.
How should I photograph my signature?
Sign on clean white paper with a dark pen. Take the photo from directly above in even light, then upload it.
Why is there still a gray background?
The background may not be light enough for the automatic removal. Open Levels and move the white point to the paper area in the histogram.
Can I put a signature on every page?
Yes. Show all pages and place the image on each one. You can also drag an image you have already placed from one page to another.
Does the PDF stay a PDF?
Yes. The PDF text stays text; the signature or stamp is added on top.
What file formats are supported?
PDF, Word and OpenDocument (.doc, .docx, .odt, .rtf), plus JPEG and PNG.
How are Word documents converted?
Word files are converted to pages in your browser using LibreOffice. The first Word file may take a little longer because the conversion engine has to be loaded. Your document itself is not uploaded.
Can I export pages as images?
Yes. Export each page as PNG or JPG at 72, 150 or 300 dpi.
