Effects that are
settings, not layers you have to rebuild
A stitched edge is marks along an outline with a slope lit under them. Photoshop needs sixty steps and a folder of brushes to say that; here it is a handful of numbers you can move while you watch. 完全免费。 真的免费。
- Marks along an outline.
- Spacing is a share of the mark's width: under a hundred they run into a seam, over three hundred they stand apart as holes.
- Relief that is lit, not painted.
- The shape's own edge becomes a slope, and the slope is lit by an angle and a height. Raised or pressed in is one switch.
- An effect is data.
- A list of layers, each with a source and a style. Adding one adds no code, which is the only way a library grows.
- Reads your presets.
- Drop an .atn, .asl or .abr and it says what is inside — the steps, the styles, the brushes and their spacing.
- Nothing is uploaded.
- The files are read in the page. Bought presets are yours and they stay on your machine.
- One picture out.
- PNG at the size you set, with the background you chose or none at all.
What it makes
Six things it does that a layer style does not
A style in Photoshop is a stack you rebuild every time. Here the stack is the effect, and every number in it is a dial.
The first effect, and the one it was built against
- Body, pressed groove, holes and thread as four layers
- Every one of them adjustable while you look at it
- Marks that follow the outline around its corners
- The seam closes evenly rather than doubling up at the start
It grows without the engine growing
- An effect is a list of layers, in data
- Sources: a fill, marks along the outline, your own picture
- Styles: relief, shadows, inner shadow, glow, fill, stroke
- New effects arrive as values, not as code
It opens Photoshop's own files
- Actions, style libraries and brush libraries
- Says what each holds and what we can draw of it
- Brush spacing and diameter, which is where the behavior lives
- Read in the page — nothing is sent anywhere
Bevel, shadows and glow
- The slope is lit, so it moves when the light does
- Raised or pressed in, which is a seam against a groove
- Inner shadow, which is an outer shadow of the hole
- Every distance scales together for print
In detail
The piece, the marks, the relief and the file
One panel, decorated properly, and taken away.
The piece
- Any size up to 3000 px
- Corners from square to a full round
- A background color, or none at all
- A margin, so a shadow has somewhere to fall
The marks
- Round, lozenge, ring or square
- Size in pixels, spacing as a share of it
- Lean and stretch
- Inset, so a seam sits inside the edge and a trim outside it
The relief
- Width, depth and softening
- Light angle and height
- Raised or pressed in
- Drop shadow, inner shadow, inner glow, fill and stroke
Reading presets
- .atn action sets, with every step listed
- .asl style libraries, with the effects each style carries
- .abr brush libraries, with diameter and spacing
- All of it read in the page
How it works
Four steps
A piece, an effect, the dials, the file.
Set the piece
Width, height and how around the corners are.
Choose an effect
Stitched leather to begin with. It arrives as layers you can see and switch off.
Move the dials
Spacing, size, lean, inset, and the light on the relief. Everything redraws as you go.
Take the picture
PNG at the size you set.
Who it is for
Anywhere an edge has to look made
Packaging, product pages, and the mock-ups in between.
Packaging mock-ups
A stitched leather panel on a box, a case or a tag, at the size it will print.
Product pages
A header that looks manufactured rather than filtered.
Labels and tags
A perforated or stitched edge on a shape you set in pixels.
Presentation boards
Material studies that hold up at full size.
Anyone with bought actions
Open the file and see what it actually does, step by step.
Anyone without Photoshop
The effect, without the sixty steps and the folder of brushes.
Questions
What it does, and what it will not do
Does it run my Photoshop actions?
No, and it does not pretend to. It reads them and tells you what is in them — the steps, the styles, the brushes and their spacing — because that is where the knowledge is. Running them would mean rebuilding Photoshop's whole object model, and every new file would find another gap in it.
Are my bought presets safe to open here?
They are read in the page and nothing is sent anywhere. They are also not kept: close the tab and the file is gone from it.
Will it look exactly like the Photoshop version?
Close, not identical. A bevel is a lighting model, and ours is not Adobe's; the same numbers give a slightly different slope. Everything is a dial, so it is adjusted rather than matched.
Can I add my own effect?
Not from the panel yet. An effect is a list of layers in data, so adding one is small — that is the next thing after the library has a few more in it.
Why is my picture slow to redraw?
A relief has to look at every pixel once. At 3000 px that is a few tenths of a second. Work smaller and raise the size at the end — the scale dial exists for exactly that.
Does it do text?
Not yet. The outline is a panel with rounded corners; text and your own SVG outline are the next sources.
